to the OP, sure you can buy large tires and a lift and run the D35 all day
but youre going to get god awful fuel economy and not have enough torque
not knockin 99superjeep01's credibility, but if you're planning on lockers and gears, no one on this forum will suggest you build the d35

do you have rockers yet? less suspension must compensate with more armor and recovery (winch, bumpers, rockers, skid plates)

I have some spyder rockers. I think I might try and find a D44 or do the 8.8 swap

No worries. We'll all have a little different experience cause our rigs are all a little different. But I agree, it's better to buy a stronger axle than to build a d35.

I think I'm going to lift it first, then do the 8.8 before I get any recovery gear
