Default Lift Gate Struts

Has anyone ever used any lift gate struts off of ebay? I went to the stealership and they quoted me $95 for a set of them. I thought that was ridiculous. I found these http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TAILG...Q5fAccessories on ebay and can get them, with shipping, for $30. Do ya'll think they will last as long as the way over priced oem ones? Thanks.

I've used ebay for lift struts, but not for the Cherokee. The ones I got worked fine, I had no complaints.

If you need something in a pinch grab a small vice grip pliers and grab the shiny part just where you want the strut to stop. It works amazingly.

That's what I've been doing. Especially when it gets cold!!! I'm tired of getting knocked in the head by the gate.

I think the concern isn't them being wrong as much as it is them being poor quality and not working well very long.

i have some monroe ones also that i got off of a local forum. I dont remember what "model" they are if they even have different ones, but holly crap does the lift gate come flying up. first time i almost busted my jaw and same with anyone who opens it and doesnt expect it (not joking about this at all haha)

i think i paid 20-30 for both and i think the previous guy said he paid 40-50 shipped. Definitely worth the price, it gets annoying getting smacked in the head every time.and they got a black piston on them instead of chrome
