How many people on here have 4x4 with lifts . And wanting to get this that and the other does not count.

One thing that I think about from time-to-time is the fact that XJ's haven't been made since 2001. Every year there are fewer and fewer to choose from. Lower mile XJ's are going for a good chunk of cash...
Nice specimens are becoming harer to find, though there is a lot of junk out there.
Think about the numbers of XJ's that will be available in 5 years... All the ones in the northern states are rusting away, many people modify other ones by cutting the fenders or other things that could be considered devaluing. Many are crashed each year or retired for other reasons.
I'm not saying I don't like a Cherokee with trimmed fenders, 35's and a nice lift... The only thing about that is the lift can be removed but the rear fender wells can never be put back without considerable work.
So before I take the grinder to mine I always think... In 5 years, if I still have it and it's mostly stock except for a lift and bigger tires it's most likely gonna' be one of those veihicles that people drive by and say "hey, I used to have one of those, their tough to find now". OR "hey look at that clean Cherokee, wow I remember when you'd see one around every corner", "too bad Chrysler ever stopped making them".
Well, that's enough of my rambling... just something to think about. Personally I'm not going to drive the one I bought in Florida during these nasty Michigan winters because I think 5 years from now it will be really cool to have a nice somewhat stock, slightly lifted, rust free Cherokee!
