Ok this is the absolute cheapest way to do this. http://cgi.ebay.com/100-5mm-BLUE-WAT...item414df2381b
Find what color you want on ebay but thats an example. Plan out your lighting CAREFULLY to make a very nice accent. Looks way better than the cheap crap from autozone if done correctly. Its super easy these can be mounted by just drilling a hole and maybe a tad bit of glue and the wiring can be connected to any 12V source. However, I would recommend running them straight from the fuse block but you do what you want to. You will also need crimps or a soldering iron and wire but still cheaper than 2 sets of cheap led light strips. This is what I would do.

Do you know how to solder. I have done crap like this all the time. You can go to a local small electronics store like radioshack but preferably some local place. Itll be time consuming but thats the fun of it. You only need like 20 to make some pretty cool effects. I personally love soldering and have done crap like this for hours at a time.

Also I am assuming your a highschooler cause you live with your dad. So am I. I know you dont have money and what you can do yourself on the cheap even if it takes a long time your going to do. I wouldnt have it any other way it keeps me busy so I like it.
