Too hot and too loud without it, leave it in.

Karvin, how much did you spend on Monstaliner?
|
Clean the carpet and use a washable rug/mat/bed for the dog. I sling it in the washing machine every couple of weeks and that solves the problem.

$100 for a gallon of Monstaliner with a quart of Chassis Saver thrown in, plus a free ride.
Still have about 1/3rd of a gallon of the Monstaliner and 80% of the Chassis Saver. Holding on to that stuff till I get the floorpans replaced in my Cherokee. Doing the same treatment to the Cherokee, but going to Chassis Saver the bottom of the floorpans before they get welded in, touch up around the bottomside after welding, then two coats of Monstaliner on the topside of the floorpans. I will actually end up lining the interior up to the bottom of the windows, and the rest in OD Green Monstaliner (If they have colors out when I am ready, if not Duplicolor Flat OD Green.) Exterior will be Monstaliner following the lines from the wheel wells all the way around, OD Green Monstaliner above that to the roofline, with the standard black Monstaliner on the very top. Probably going to thin it down and spray it on with a paintgun tho, if I can talk my paint guy into running it thru his gun that is. Thinking about 2 gallons of black, and perhaps 1 of the OD green depending on coverage. Goal is to prevent rust and prevent it long term. Not worried about being pretty, is will be a 85%+ off-road only rig. |
There are a variety of products on the market that are like line-x or monstaliner that are for thermal and noise dampening. Check out www.secondskinaudio.com, they have a product called firewall that is a paint on coating that is made with ceramics and glass and has both thermal and sound dampening qualities. I plan to tear all my carpet out this summer and just paint on some thermal and sound deadening coatings so that I can still spray it down when dirty, but wont have a really hot noisy ride.

Very hot without a carpet. Trans tunnel gets extremely hot. Nice on cold days though.
|
If i were you, id remove the seats and clean the **** out of the carpet, leave it in! Without it in there, makes for alot more noise inside of it and too, the floor boards get prety hot.
|
i'm just gonna rip it out in the cargo area. spray with bedliner. put husky mats a washable blanket down. and just clean the heck out of the rest of the jeep. the seats are pretty nasty too.
