All the sudden out of the blue the last 4 or 5 days now my the engine in 89 Cherokee 4.0 just started racing when I start it, I mean 3-5000 rpm until 'it warms up. I`m afraid the engine is going to blow and it`s scaring the heck out of me. Not to mention being afraid to dump it into gear (its an automatic).
Cherokee`s already don`t have the best brakes on them and then trying to stop it with the engine wanting to rev up but then again once you do get going and being afraid to put it in neutral because of it revving up,, I`m at a loss with what to do to try and fix it.
