Will have soon. Im new to the XJ scene. Have had a couple of Wranglers, a Grand, and a Liberty Renegade in the past. Just got this a little over a month ago. Bone stock right now, but the 3.5" RE lift with full packs is on the way. Fed X just delivered my Soft 8'S today. A friend bought these tires for his Four Runner at a swap meet and found out when he got home he had 16's, so I got them for $275.00 (cheap!!) As soon as I get it done will post pics.

Here's a set of 245x75x16" MTR's on a set of 2006 Rubicon Moab rims. I like em' too! They are load range E so they are pretty stiff. I'm running 27 psi but I'm going to try 25#. They hum but not objectionably. I have had them in the sand at 5-7psi and they float very nicely. All sand around here so I can't say how they do in the mud.

It has a 3.5" Rubicon Express lift. Springs and full leaf packs. I've seen a picture of a guy that runs this size tire with no lift at all. I believe he said it works ok on the road but they would rub off-road.
I've seen other people that have knocked their flares off with this size tire.
I guess the bottom line is you really need to lift to get the benefit out of this size tire. You'll be rubbing and possibly damaging your Cherokee without a lift with these tires. Your 31's are actually around 1/2" higher than my 245's.
Besides, it looks a lot better lifted too!

ill answer that

not good....i had them on my rubicon, obviously, and had them on my YJ....

they dont clean out in the mud very well at all......they look like they should do pretty well, but for how agressive they look, they really dont amount to crap in the mud.

i know when i had them on my YJ, going up just a slight grade that was muddy, i would have to have the YJ in 4-lo, third gear, to get up the hill...and even then, id be just about bouncing off the rev limiter to get up, while im only moving about .5 MPH......some times i would have to put the jeep in 4th gear just to get enough tire speed....

and on the rubicon, bc of its incredibly low gears, i did always have to put it in 4th gear....it was a 6 speed tho, but the lockers dont work in 4-hi from the factory, so i always had it in 4 lo, but to get thru any mud, low range, 4th gear or even 5th on occasion, was needed

i had some BFG M/Ts on a ZJ i use to have, 31 inch, and they did a LOT better

the MTR really isnt designed for mud, as much as it is for rock, no matter how bad *** they look

this is just my .02

but, ive heard they are awesome at just about every other terrain...

That's too bad they don't clean out too well in the mud. Lot's of sand around here so I'll be ok with that.
When mine wear out I'm sure I'll try something else. I like the Moab rims which was half the reason I bought these. With the 16" rims I have more clearance for larger brakes also which I thought might make a good project someday.
Hopefully the original poster doesn't live next to a mud pit!

Idk what u guys r talking about I have the MTRs on my WJ & have made it through some STICKY perdickerments! Lol
The only problem I've had with them it stair stepping. I'm on my second set of them & this set is starting too also even after an alignment!
I don't worry about how the mud clears outta them that's the guy tailgating me problem!!! Lol

I believe he has the new MT/R's not the old ones and as far as mud goes the old MT/R's sucked in the mud too so that does not surprise me.
