Just got my first Jeep.
Just got my first 97 Grand Cherokee Limited. Its got the 4.0 straight 6, quadra trac. Its onlg got 179,578 on it for miles, runs great. Lovin it so far. Needs a set of wheel bearings but thats easy. Just not cheap, lol. Its got the Infinity Gold stereo in it, I have a set of Kenwood 6x9's I'd like to put in the back. Is this doable without a lot of work?

Got to be careful with the infinity stereo setup. I'd recommend getting a multimeter on your existing speakers before getting too excited. Some of them use 2 ohm speakers which would mean you lose a lot of power if you replace them with 4 ohm. If you're Kenwoods are 2 ohm, then just get chopping

Thanks for the info, had the stereo turned up pretty loud yesterday and it sounds great. I dont know if I'll even put the kenwoods in. But I'll definitely check out the ohms on them before I do anything though. Never owned a jeep before but so far I'm lovin it.

happy so far.
Thanks guys, had to put a wheel bearing in it yesterday. Pretty sure it was the factory wheel bearing too. Shattered a matco ratchet wrench and snapped a craftsman wrench doin it lol. Took snap on wrenches to get it apart. But now she rides waaay smoother. I have a pioneer head unit I'm considering putting it.but don't want it to screw with how the sound is.

head unit.
I checked the speakers and they are 4ohms, so I'm gonna sell them. What are your thoughts on swapping out the head unit as far as affecting the sound of the stereo? Would it make it better or worse you think?
