I think everyone should send in to readers rides. I'm stoked they put mine in! Check it out page 110. The guys at jp are awesome. If you're a reader you know that several months back someone wrote in bashing cherokees. That was the first time my ride graced their pages. Not only did myself and several other xj owners write in, the staff defended our noble rigs. Well worth a subscription if you don't have it. The guys at jp are as much xj lovers as any other jeep.

interesting. I went and found the original XJ hater letter. I have to agree with him. it's not really cover page material with short arms, small tires, stock rear axle, and a couple bolt on armor pieces.
nothing personal of course I'm glad an xj made the cover at all. but we could've done better

First off a guy that rants a new done-up jeep should be on the cover doesn't probably hasn't been on too jeeps that long. I'll take my xj, when both stock and slightly modded now, any day and even old school Tjs and YJs.
And an xj doesnt need to have a 6.5" lift to be capable. I wheel along side 4.5" lifts that I trust. Really would love to see what that original ranter, from the magazine, drives

JK's are awesome. I subscribe to wayalife and watch the JK experience. people do it right
the argument wasnt that there was something wrong with the xj on the cover, just that we could've dont much better
there's a handful of xj's in the COTM winners banner at the top of the page that would have been an incredible representation of what building an xj is all about
and there is no way that xj on the cover 'is used heavily off road.' it has no rock rash. it doesnt even have pin striping

What it comes down to is he won a contest to have his xj put on the cover. Hell mine would look better on the cover. Oh well.... One day lol. Just looked at the pic and ur right, no rock rash. The guy writing in wasn't just bashing that xj, he was kinda bashing xj-kind, which I don't take kindly to.
