I have a 1996 2 door jeep Cherokee that I need new seats for. They seem very far and few between. Does anyone know what year Cherokees or any other jeep seats that mount the same? Any advise helps. Thanks
I would just tear down the seats and replace the foam and covers with good stuff. the driver/passenger seats are interchangeable. a friend of mine took a good pass seat and cut the bottom left side foam out of it and replaced his driver's bottom left side foam via the same method. feels like a new seat and once the cover is on there is no way to tell. also, throw your covers in a washing machine, they will come out looking like new. I'd do 1 portion at a time, ie 1 bottom cover at a time, etc.
I think some Zj and Wj seats swap into Cherokees pretty easily with little or no modification, but I don't know if it'll work with the olde xj...its definitely worth researching
I swapped my 99 4 doors seats last weekend with 96 grand seats. Alot thicker so more comfortable. Wasn't hard at all. Are the 2 and 4 door seats different?
FYI
I have a 4 door XJ with ZJ seats.
The seats from the ZJ folded further forward than the XJ seats but still not enough for a 2-door. Maybe if the seat was also moved all the way forward.
