I had a 97 Camry with very low miles and light front damage that I fixed up for my daughter that was just starting community college. It was a very nice comfortable and solid ride but four months later it was wrecked by hitting a parked pickup w/ plow that she pushed up on the front lawn. Needless to say I was P.O'd as she never offered a believable version of what happened.
As punishment I picked up a beater of a 96 XJ. It was county beach patrol truck again with very low miles but near end stage rot. No remote or power anything. Patched up the floor boards added a 3 inch Rubicon lift I had that was basically new and a roof rack that I also had figuring I'd buy myself a new one.
Her boyfriend added 31's and a light bar.
It smells, it rattles and handles like a semi but she's in love.
Most days when I leave for work it looks like this
Dirty jeep, it looks good that way, minus the fake fender flares.
No not fake. The truck was blue with county emblems on it that they just sprayed flat black over everything before it went to auction. Her boyfriend just ripped the flares off when the 31's went on leaving the trace of blue you see and some pieces of the inner flare..
