My fiance and I are looking for a Liberty Renegade. Not for wheeling, we've got an XJ and a TJ for that.

For a lady driver who is using it to go back and forth to work in WI winter weather, its great.

Wolfe, I like the look of your Liberty, were the stock lights up top crappy? We haven't gone to look at any yet. :/

I didn't have the stock light bar up top, and mine isn't a real Renegade, just stickers haha
A factory style lightbar costs $500ish so this rack at $60 and 4 cheapy lights for $50 can do the same thing
But I belong to a KJ forum too and those who have the lightbar up top like it, and I think a few have changed out for brighter bulbs, buts its not necessary.
I use to have an XJ (the one from my avatar) then traded straight for this when it was stock, for a kid who wanted something to wheel, and going from a 00 cherokee to 06 Liberty with 65k less miles seems like a no brainer, that's how I ended up with it, and figured its still a Jeep, still a blast to drive, can make it through the lighter trails and such, but its 4 years old, and I don't owe anything on it, so at 20 and needing something reliable to get to school and work everyday and through Cleveland winters this makes sense for me!
The XJ I just got will do the wheeling instead of lifting the KJ. I picked it up from a fellow member on here for $1100 that overheated and now has a slight knock, so a new 4.0 is going in!

And for those who haven't ever driven or wheeled a Liberty, you may be surprised, and I think it lives up to the Jeep name, as plenty of people wheel them have over 150k on the 3.7, and the only real weak point is the front diff. but that doesn't stop most people.

Those 3.7s have been around almost as long as the 4.0s if I'm not mistaken.

Direct link for those that care...

Liberty is a step child from the Chrysler Jeep marriage.

Who cares. HE liked it, that makes him DIFFERENT which is good. If everything was the same how boring would life be. Yes he could have left the sticker off, yes he could have atleast got 4wd other then that I dont think it looks bad.

The classiest I've seen was the guy who took the Rubicon stickers off of his 2006 Rubicon unlimited because he knew what he had and didn't like the looks of the stickers on his Jeep and wasn't out to impress anyone.

The new Liberties, such as that one, are ugly.

Ya, i agree. I think the new ones look a ton better than the older ones. No harm to the people who own an older one, but it doesnt look like a manly car to me. Im glad they when boxish again.

I guess I don't pay attention to liberties all that much but that's the first time I have seen that newer style. It's definitely boxier and more (dare I say) cherokee like, but there's something that just ain't right with it... I can't quite put my finger on it, but it's weird.

On second thought, I have seen it before, I just thought it was a Commander...
