It's not quite as convenient as having someone to do my jeep work for me, ha ha ha!

Google image search for what I'm talking about:

Hi-Jack.. I'm looking at Liberty's too, need something for my daughter.

What's the issue on the 02-03 engines? That's the 3.7L?

What's different on the 04+?

02/03 are a wiring nightmare, extremely Chrysler. Sorry I meant to type "unreliable". They all have the 3.7L

CRD with an NV3550 would be nice...

It's real fun as long as you don't crash! It's like having a 40 pound motorcycle, ha ha.

I don't know what changed on the 04+ but I know that the first engine failed due to a broken timing chain at 68k miles.

The second engine failed due to a spun rod bearing. No clue what caused the oil starvation.

I liked the Jeep itself. It was actually quite capable off-road in stock form. I just had very bad luck with the engine.

Lol u guys are crackin my **** up. I'm going to have her read all this after we are done and back home. I've been with my girl for a lil over 5 years and we have an amazing daughter together. She cooks, cleans, works and takes care of my "needs" couldn't of asked for a better mate. When I went looking for an SUV I took her with me and she was nit picking every cosmetic thing she could think of until I finally told her that her input wasn't important on the purchasing of MY vehicle. So she is just throwing that back at me. Understandable. I'm not mad, I won't be the one driving her vehicle. And for the past 3 days I keep telling her what she needs to drive and I guess I finally poked that bear hard enough to strike back. Lol still hoping I can get her in a car instead.

The 02-03's had serious wiring issues, misfire issues from bad quality coils, and heads cracking (they used the same metal blend as the 0331 heads on the 4.0, just a different casting). Chrysler addressed the issues in late 03 for the 04 models.

Sign her up for driving classes without telling her and just tell her when to be there.

Fixed it for ya..

Actually I'm noticing the CRD's seem to be real pricey or right inline with an earlier KJ. Nothing in between, were there variances in that engine as well?

Thanks for the wiring and engine info, saved me hours digging at LOST.

Lost Jeeps probably has a sticky for that stuff lol.

Yeah the CRD is a pretty expensive option. And expensive to service, too. Might have more luck importing a KJ with the VM Motori 2.8L.

All is well that ends well. I didn't even have to say anything about the liberty. She went "browsing" with a co worker on her lunch break and picked out a corolla. We went back that night and she drove it and loved it. Even got 800 for the galant towards a trade in.

little thing has some giddy up n go
