New American Top Gear on September 10th. Just saw the commercial; it has a nice red xj with the roof cut up. It is on the history channel. Check it out.

 

Just watched last weeks episode, and they showed previews. Rut builds that one & he cuts the roof down the center & puts hinges on the sides so it splits like some type of convertible. Should be funny as usual...

I love the american top gear they are funny.Adam always gets the oldest car out of all of them for whatever challenge they are going.

 

Still pales in comparison to the UK Top Gear, even with the anti American stuff, they just get away with so much more then we could even think of doing! Good show though.

 

I wonder if they'll ever do a UK/US episode like they did with the Germans and the Aussies?? That would be fun to watch.

 

I'm not a fan of the uk top gear they bash american cars bad and even have half the stats wrong on them.Like they had a 67 mustang gt390 it was just a mustang gt that had a 390ci,And said it had 4 wheel drums but you could see the front disc through the rims.Or they took a ford lightning off road and said it sucked,Really a 2wd lowered truck sucks off road.

 

They drove American cars through the South with Nascar Sucks and Hilary for Pres spray painted and try to get each other killed. Apparently Politically Correct isn't in the Vocab for them. Yes they are anti American but that can be good as well they HATE Priuses that's gotta count for something.

 

Right. They are obviously biased, any time a british car is reviewed, it's nothing but praises even if its a terrible car. But even so, their viewers voted Ford as the greatest car manufacturer ever.

Most of their praise for British cars is sarcastic other than some of the really awesome ones (Aston Martins for example). Watch the episode with the anniversary of the Jaaaaaag E-type with the long running joke of it not starting.

 

Watched it last night and just found this thread. Good thing I happened to stumble upon it on tv last night!

 

I personally find American Top Gear to be boring. The BBC guys have awesome chemistry, and that's what makes the show so awesome. They're all hilarious. I do wanna see this episode, though, because I wanna see the **** they do to the XJ.

 

I wouldn't say they are anti-american. They poke fun at everyone, often themselves as well. Thats kind of why I like them. They don't care. Lol

That episode you're talking about is hilarious btw.

The US version is alright it just feels kind of cheesy and forced. Like a lot of other "reality" shows on history. I feel like they could do better and add more car stuff.

 

this show sucks. i watched it bc of the XJ thinking something cooler would happen and it didnt.

imho rutledge or however you spell it is the only guy that makes sense on the show. the uk one is 100000000000000000000x better even the first season of the uk one is better than this show.
