you guys can do the front swap for under $500 including shipping, some guy in a comancher forum did it. it was about 300, but IDK if he did the fenders to, he also did the rear tail lights, the total on just the parts was about $167 something like that

Heres the photoshop i had done to green when i was considering getting in on the original groupbuy, ultimately i figured that front end wouldnt look right with an OD and camo theme.

Excerpt from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeep_Cherokee_(XJ)

"American Motors established the first automobile manufacturing joint venture in the People's Republic of China to assemble the four-door Cherokee[9]. Production continued after Chrysler's buyout of AMC. Chrysler executives were concerned over licit and illicit technology transfers when knock-offs of the Cherokee began appearing in the Chinese market.[10] Production under Mercedes-Benz continued in the partnership that was renamed Beijing-Benz DaimlerChrysler Automotive. The most recent model with an updated grille, headlights, and other upgrades is known as the "Jeep 2500" that was produced through 2006.[11] It is notable that AMC's original Cherokee design continued to sell virtually unchanged after over twenty years."

That Comanche has a Mexican tag on it. Does that mean we can't get that stuff here? They can import a lot of stuff into Mex that can't come across the border legally.

Dont think it's any more of a problem getting them here than Mexico, I think they were originally shipped to the US and this guy imported them into Mexico.

So it sounds like they are no longer sold but you can still get replacement parts that can be fitted to a US model?

Yep.. pretty much.. since they are just now doing the swaps there are more than likely some mods that have to be done to do it but that is to be expected.
