I got a set of harbor freight 6 ton jack stands a few years ago when I lifted my cj-5. They go alot higher than lightduty ones plus their extra heavyduty, which is a plus.

Go buy 4 cinder blocks and then you can use smaller stands, the stands I had were all the way down while I was doing my 4.5. Put two blocks under each stand for safety

Got a couple old steel rims laying around?
Got a welder?
One lays flat, the other stand it up on the first one vertically, weld two together.
Instant jack stand. I used a couple like that for years.

pls don't ever use cinder blocks, they will break on you at some point.
find some 4x4 two pices about 12-14 inches long under each jack stand.
so u need 4 pieces (just to be clear)
