Anyone saying Jeep has to make **** like this so they can keep making money to design offroad vehicles: You don't understand business.
1) Jeep is owned by Fiat. They own many, many brands in North America and on other continents. They don't need to brand this **** as a "Jeep" vehicle, even if they do feel inclined to make it. Chrysler killed off the AMC/Jeep Comanche ASAP because it was competing with their Dodge truck line. Jeep doesn't need crossovers.
2) They make **** tons of money off the Wranglers. The idea that they need to spend money on R&D for these other...things...in order to afford R&D on the Wrangler is flawed.
3) Look at it.
4) Even the Wranglers are trash now. Everything on the vehicle is electronic, and they have optional luxury-level comfort features. Electronic braking, electronic lockers, electronic sway bar disconnects...because Jeep has ALWAYS been known for their reliable electrical systems. I'm sure that's gonna keep improving with the new Alfa Romeo Cherokee, designed for off-road capabilities equivalent to your gravel driveway.
5) Pentastar V6.

we didn't have internet back in the day when Jeep put the label "cherokee" on the unibody built vehicle we all love today.....back then it was normally found on a full frame truck/wagon.......so really, it's just another evolution in vehicle science.

New Jeeps will never be the same. Gonna be funny when they put some ifs/IRS on the Wrangler. Maybe retractable top, and some 20" Rims. Its what all the sheep want. What a shame.

Chrysler started it. Fiat just kept the trend. A Jeep isn't a specialized vehicle anymore; it's just a brand.

Does anyone realize technology is speeding up? Of course jeep vehicles are gonna change.. All vehicles are lol. I'm excited honestly, I can pick one up for a DD and save the miles and GAS on my xj. I wouldn't mind getting a jeep with offroad capability and good mileage. You guys make it sound like jeep doesn't even make 4wd vehicles anymore.. Um don't all models come with the 4x4 option? I'm sure it'll do fine offroad just like any other jeep or 4x4. Xj's might be more made for the offroad way of life but that doesn't mean it's the only vehicle that can go offroad. I've seen a Subaru outback on a mountain trail. It was awesome made me wanna go buy one haha
