hi evryone;

only been on here a couple days, but i keep running into new threads to introduce yourself. wasn't sure which covered the whole site so i'm checking in here too!

my name is Fred, i live in south jersey(Forked River), got a 93 2dr XJ that's my daily driver but i'm looking to beef it up alittle. i got rid of my last XJ cause i blew the head gasket in the winter and didn't feel like working on it in the cold. i think i have to build a garage, based on what alot of what everyone does here i may be at this for along time. just have the weekends, and when i'm laid off, to do stuff since it's my DD.

some of the things i did:
tubular lower control arms
polyurethane bushings
upgraded to adjustable track arm(the type without the ball joint)
throttle position sensor
oxygen sensor
BFG 235's( I know!, i'll get to bigger tires )
plugs,wires,rotor,cap
catalytic converter,muffler,tailpipe

as you can see most of the work is to make it pass inspection and be road worthy, still working on the brakes, back ones stink, had issues when the TPS was bad, the engine was still trying to push the car and stepping on the brake caused the front to skid on wet pavements, had alittle snow here already and that still happens so i need to upgrade the back brakes or find out if it's the proportionating valve.

anyway's that's how i found this site so i'm hunting around looking at all the stuff you folks are doing and it's great that you post "how to's", cause it's real helpful learning from others the short cuts or methods they took.

hope to be able to do the same for someone when i get into something that hasn't been covered but that'll be hard cause there's alot of stuff here, and if i don't get a chance to thank you for you posts or ideas,

thanks in advance
Fred

Default Introduction

hello, I'm Tom. I'm new to this forum because I just bought a 2004 Grand Cherokee 4x4 with the 4.7 V8. It only has 29K and has been taken care of. I have some minor issues as expected. I work on an Army base in S. Korea. Lots of jeeps over here. I'll be making some posts soon.

Howdy, my names ben. Picked up a 99 about 3 weeks ago and have loved it since. The beast is a limited, loaded up the wazoo. Leather, heated front seats, skid plate tow hooks country suspension, even that fancy computer that tells you the temp. and direction, fuel eco. etc. AND has a compartment for my shades! And only 166xxx km on her.

Few issues, and three trips to the junk yard has fixed many of them.

Glad to be part if the jeep community!

Newb here in AZ. Just bought an 01 Sport. Within 3 weeks, had the driveshaft fall out an disappear along the highway. Hope this isn't the beginning of a long list of repairs, I'll still love her either way.
