Default Infinity sound system upgrade

I have a 2000 cherokee limited with infinity premium sound system - I'm wondering if anyone has successfully found a way to keep the infinity amp powering new speakers with a new aftermarket head unit and installed a new amp to power a sub?

I believe the infinity amp is more powerful than the pioneer deck I have: Pioneer DEHX9600BHS CD Receiver with Full-Dot LCD Display, MIXTRAX, Bluetooth, HD Radio Tuner, and SiriusXM Ready by Pioneer
Amazon.com : Pioneer DEHX9600BHS CD Receiver with Full-Dot LCD Display, MIXTRAX, Bluetooth, HD Radio Tuner, and SiriusXM Ready : Car Electronics Amazon.com : Pioneer DEHX9600BHS CD Receiver with Full-Dot LCD Display, MIXTRAX, Bluetooth, HD Radio Tuner, and SiriusXM Ready : Car Electronics

So my idea is to keep the factory wiring and amp in place, replace the head unit with the pioneer, add a new amp to power a sub. Trying to find how I can connect everything properly and came across this on the WJ site: http://www.wjjeeps.com/audioupgrade.htm#AFTER

Looks like there is a special 'OEM1' adapter that might work for this.

Any thoughts/ideas/recommendations appreciated. I'm a car audio beginner, so probably in over my head, but thought I might be able to figure it all out with research.. Do you know of any good sound system write ups on the XJ boards that might help?

Thanks a lot

I installed everything keeping the existing infinity amp in place and running a new amp for a sub only. No need to buy any additional connectors. Everything sounds great!
