inexpensive rockers I built out of 2 inch rigid steel pipe
Wooo just built these awesome rockers out of 2 inch rigid steel pipe, they are tough as Hell. My original rockers rotted after some trees ripped holes in them haha
Not a good idea.
The boxed in rockers provide structural strength/integrity for the A, B, and C pillars.
You should remove those and build a set of rectangular tube sliders and properly weld them in.

Weld the top up. Problem solved.
I did that with box tube and it's pretty darn strong being tied to the frame stiffener in conjunction to a smooth skid from the tube to frame.
I'd post a pic but my app can't handle it.

I can gaurentee these won't jepordize the integrity of the jeep pillars. I believe the wall thickness is atleast 3/16 if not 1/4 inch. These have 1/4 inch steel flat stock welded to them for mounting flanges and are bolted to each polar twice where it meets the existisng rocker therefore its two pieces of sheet metal together where it mounts. It's pretty tough and the way I built it the flat stock will distribute shock and reinforce all sheet metal its mounted to.
I might eventualy but I'm pretty sure bubble gum would be stronger than the stock rockers they aren't much. I took a 10 lb hammer and hit these as hard as I could a few times haha, definitely sounded solid

im not so worried about the actually rocker strength but what they are attached to bassically its like attaching a a pincil to paper yeah the pencil wont break but it will tear the paper if it catches
Very true. I built these so it would pass inspection but also so I would have to keep repair sheet metal. Probably when I have some time I will well something in place of the remaining rocker like some c channel or something
