Default I'm pissed

So long story short. I have my lift all planned out getting ready to order it this week.

and bam on Saturday my A/C in my house goes **** up, immediate reaction is oh **** five grand out the door. Then my lovely wife reminds me that we have a home warranty and it's all covered. Nice I feel better, well a little better as it's like 150 degrees in Florida and I have sweat running down my *** while I eat dinner.

then this morning my A/C stops working in the xj. Probably needs freon I say no biggy. Well no my freaking condenser has a leak. Not just any leak one that could've been avoided. The freaking head of the tranny cooler screw was rubbing up against the condenser and rubbed out a hole. Why was it not tightened enough. And the qoute for replacing the condenser, dryer, and recharge is $940.00. So now I have two vehicles with no air and a house that feels like a sauna. Freaking fantastic over here. How are you going?

and thak you for listening.....er reading.

its 45* here. has been snowing for a few days. but that sucks. 940 is what most shops would charge... could you do it yourself? its easy... then take it to them to charge it. its already empty.
65-200$ for condencer... rockauto.com
18$ for a receiver/dryer threw same place...
and only 8$ for the gaskets..
also wall-mart sells freon in the can cheaper then most shops will sell it to you. bring your own cans. (2 of them) and all will be good!
its not a hard job... could have it all done for about 150$ plus the recharge labor...

then pay to have them recharge it. should be about 100$ to have it vacuumed and recharged... verys by there labor rate..

I'm giving it some thought doing it my self.

Just never dealt with A/C systems.

Over 900 bucks to fix the A/C? You're getting raped my friend. Go to www.rockauto.com for the parts, install them yourself, then have it evacuated and recharged. It will only be a quarter of what you were quoted at most.

That's way I like the older XJ's with wing windows, Flip them around back wards. It's like a wind tunnel. You don't even have to empty the ashtray, Because your wearing most of it..
