Default if you couldn't drive a jeep

my xj is my daily driver like many people on here i'm sure. so god forbid your xj is wrecked, or broke beyond repair and you had to pick a new (to you at least) 4x4 to drive around, what would you pick and what mods would you do off the bat?

i'd probably go for a dodge ramcharger. had one before and it was a beast probably just stick with lift, tires and gears for a start or keep my eyes open for a set of one tons to start things off

Well if i couldn't find another jeep, i'd sure as heck try to get me an old chevy military cucv. I used to have one bought it for $400 at a county auction not long later the head gasket went then sold it for $1200. You cant beat having a dana 60, corperate 14, and 4.56 gears to start with.lol I'd do a 4" lift throw 35-40" tires on it. Put a 6.5 turbo on the 6.2 thats in it, beef up the trans and have a bad *** rig. On top of that most the old cucv's you find have extremely low miles on them, and only run around $3-4000.

Heres my old one.

Looked like this the day i bought it.

Looked like this when i sold it...(didn't care for the camo)

Had a lot more i wanted to do to this pickup, but was broke and it was my dd so i had to sell it to get a drivable vehicle....SAD SAD DAY

If I lost my Cherokee, I guess I would pull out the Comanchee for the overdue restore.

ANOTHER CHEROKEE!!! I'd reuse anything I could off the wrecked one!!!

Wait I did this already.... rolled the front axle backwards under my 89 limited breaking the lca mounts off the axle!! In an 87 pioneer now, pulled everything I could from the 89 and put it in the 87.... motor, tranny, TC, lift, tires, front clip (which is originally off an 88 wagoneer), system, back glass (rear defrost), steering column, kc daylighters and some other stuff that don't come to mind just yet!!

I would pick up either a Suzuki Samurai or an International Scout. I really like them both.

Mach0 Power Wagon 4-speed 440 If I could find and afford one. If not I've always wanted a 5/6-Speed TJ.

If it happened before I sold my other truck, I'd probably just go back to driving my 1987 Chevy Suburban 4x4:
