I pulled into this gas station to get something to drink today and parked my XJ next to this 2001 red XJ. As i was leaving the gentleman who owned the red XJ was placing his child into his child seat in the back when I noticed how clean and rust free this Jeep was. I live in sw Pennsylvania where they use some chemicals to de-ice the roads in the winter time that just likes to eat away at cars and is rare to see a 10 year old vehicle this clean. I put my window down and commented to him how nice his Jeep was. He then began to explain to me that his last Jeep(what ever year it was) saved his life when he fell asleep at the wheel and rolled it 5 times and walked away. He and his wife decided to order a new 2001 Xj for her to have to drive to work seeing how safe of a vehicle it is. They ordered the limited with the upcountry package and leather interior. She only used a couple times a month. He told me he just put the second set of tires on it this year. It only has 45k miles!!!! He told me when she sells it someone is going to have one nice vehicle. I offered him 5000.00 for it on the spot. He said that was no where near enough for it. I then sadly complemented him on his Jeep put up my window and drove away in my 99 xj with 160k on it.

Let me tell you this Jeep looked like it just came off the show room floor. I was like Bill Clinton looking at a new intern. I never saw one this nice in a long time. I have lots of work to do on mine now this year.

I saw my first "60th anniversery edition" XJ yesterday. Pretty cool . Looked brand new.

 

when he said 5000 wasnt enough you should of said "well, have fun when the head cracks" and then drove away.

 

 

yea i got an 01 when i got it was spotless it had 76k when i got it now i got 80k and its spotless i mean literally my headliner looks brandnew i got friends with cherokees and there alwyas complementing it

 

I've had my 2000 for seven years it has 125k and is clean as can be. It has some minor branch scrapes and its been laid up against the random tree. But, no rust no rot underside looks new. Interior is like new. And it runs like the day I bought it. A little maint and trying to keep it washed in the winter goes a long way.

 

Ya well I bought mine nov. 2007 with 75000 mi. Spun a rod bearing within 35 mi. Good thing I had a jasper rebuild with 50k on it sitting around! Only paid 3500 for it though. Now has 85k.
