I got tail light problems on 1998 cherokee sport

The lights will not cut off when i cut car off i ha no idea what to do maybe some one can give me insight

Also i have continuiosly cut on and off the head lights to maybe by hance ge the tail lights off but the will not cut off so i desconnected the battery till i can find out what to do
