Default I finished my hood vents!!

I used the plans from MrJCRod. These are very clean and very easy to install. I have a total of $16.34 in these! Cant wait to try them out on the trail!

Nice!! I agree. Very clean. I have some on mine. Made them at work. I feel like they work very well. Especially for how cheap and easy they are to do.

I actually kinda like the look of yours better. They have some style. Not just rectangle.

I got these pics from MRJCRod. This was his idea and I just copied it from his build!
The grill-o-sheet was from Lowes. $5.49 and the door trim from Advanced Auto $11.00

Looks great! I'll be doing this mod very soon. I like the look over traditional vents. I tried finding the grill sheet at Home Depot and Ace. I'll have to check Lowes. How long did it take to apply the sheets to the hood? Also I take it you noticed a nice change in temp? Did you do a drip pan or anything?

How are they secured to the bottom of the hood?

Thanks! I have about 3 hours into it. I took it for a test drive up the mountain where I know it always goes over 220 and it never even hit 210. No drip pans. I am using the scrap metal cut out from the hood and wrapping them with the door trim and bolting them underneath the grills. I will only be using the vents when crawling or very hot days. I will post pics up tomorrow when I complete them.

I used 100% silicone to secure them under the hood. I will post more pics tomorrow.

Great, thanks! So about 3 hours cutting and securing? What did you use to cut?

I used a dremel with a cut off wheel for the hood and tin snips for the grill stuff.

Oh really? A dremel? Did you have any issues with cutting or accuracy issues?
