Well welcome, I have a plan for my axles and I'm gonna let you guys poke holes in it ha ha

So I am seting aside $$$ for my xj this year some time, Roughly 5,000 for axles. So here's the plan!

Front:
G2 Dana 44 front with 4.56 gears and ox locker from Quadratec, retains my 5 4.5 bolt pat. By using my Dana 30 knuckles and hubs, and could always up grade to the 6 lug 44 knuckles but (I just bought new Rims and tires lol)

Rear: Ford 8.8 built to the 9's from ecgs with chromoly shafts and c-clip elem, truss, and 4.56 (also 5 4.5) and a g2 diff cover to match ha ha

Miss info:
96 jeep xj 4.0 Ho aw4 trans
4.5 lift with sye and custom hd drive shaft

Running trails (from mud to rocks to rivers) and tons of back and fourth driveing

What yea think?

ALSO I'm not a full width kinda guy, maybe one day but not in the next 5-6 years

Well what size tires are you running? It sounds a little overkill for basic off-roading tires. I'm still using the D30 and C8.25 with stock gears for my 33's.

sounds like a pretty decent setup.

with the gearing im assuming you're running 33's?

it should be plenty tough enough for that. and even a little overkill

no locker in the rear though?

Nothing bad to say about the set up other then gearing should be deeper for 37s. It sounds good, but 5,000 for what you are describing sounds like it should come with the brand new 37s, wheels and longarms.

Never mind. I tought you are building your own axles and just getting the OX from quadratec (the way its worded in your post). Did not know that quadratec selss built axles. Well if you go that way then yes, unfortunately you do need 5k.

I'm runing a lot of mountains and switch backs so 33"s or 35"s should be fine for 4.56.

Also my plan when I started out was a cut down 44/60 but couldn't find anyone to do the 60 at a desent price
I think the best quote I got was 12k for both, I almost popped my slef ha ha but no I love my jeep and I'm gonna do axles then build my 30 8.25 and put those under a friends then help him do his for spares lol

just run 36" iroks and call it good. why run a smaller tire with a crate axle and an 8.8 that's built to the ceiling?
