Didn't look to see if 4.0 or 2.5, but just from the front fender could see a lot of orange peel in the black paint, but body looked straight. Interior was gray and looked in great condition. Price on window...

Didn't see engine size on sticker, and didn't make it to the back to see the badge, just walked away after seeing the price.

I've been seeing some ludicrous prices in my town as well, I'm not paying 12 five for a DENTED up XJ just because it has a few goodies bolted on.

Was it a used car lot? A lot of them will post a high price knowing there's a sucker born ever minute, I bet they'd come down dramatically if you haggle cause no way he has anywhere near that much into it if he got it at a wholesale auction.

 

I think it was Car Mart. One of those chain places like you see on tv selling mostly auction cars.

If I do make an offer, I was thinking 3k max, mainly because I already have an 85 xj that I only paid $500 for last year. But if it does have a 4.0 it would be nice to consider.

 

I like how it just says "lifted". There's no description of anything about the suspension. What a joke

 

Sometimes if a seller can list a lot of upgrades that be confirmed then you might consider a higher price but I'm talking about a "Private Seller" not a Dealer.

The price you quoted is just a ask for the sky and hope someone bites. When I'm searching for anything I always exclude dealers in the search on craigslist or eBay.

 

CO XJ prices have risen a ton recently. Maybe just because winters coming so poeple are trying to ditch it, but they are all listing for $7500, HA. Then you'll see a stocker come up for $1200.
