I got a 4.5in lift on my cherokee and all of a sudden i have serious hydroplaning. Does this have to do with my lift or maybe the tires? I have cheapo walmart wrangler mt

Might also be an alignment issue. Are your tires showing un-even tire wear?

^x2, did you get an alignment after installing your lift? What size tires and how much thread is left?

No I didnt get a alignment cause i planned on changing my track bar which apparently is screwed up too. The tire size is 31 10.50 15. The thread is still full I bought them brand new and the only have about 400 miles. Instead of my track bar running along the bottom of my axle to the top it runs from the top of the axle near the passenger front tire up to where it normally bolts by the driver front tire

I have found that cherokees have a tendancy to wander in the water as it is, but I have found that certain types of tread designs increase this activity. So for starters what type of tread design are you running? and is the center tread ribbon on the tire solid or broken?

Has it started to rain where you live? Because you might get hydroplaning because of the oils starting to come out of the assfault too. But you definitly need to get your jeep aligned.

yeah im in kentucky so its been raining for about a month time and this time of the year its really bad.

Well there's your problem. Get your track bar then get it aligned. Your front axle is most likely uncentered and your front wheels are probably way out of alignment causing you to break free in the rain. Get that stuff done ASAP.

Those tires are actually pretty good tires.

When you say hydroplaning, what do you mean? I'd like to be sure we're all talking about the same issue...

When Im driving down the road and went puddles of water its pretty much throwing me off the road

I get the same problem when I hit larger puddle. The wide tires combined with the water not being able to disperse from under the tire will cause the tire to float and rise off the road. Not much other way than making sure the front is aligned properly and keeping an eye on the road and watching for standing water and know it could be coming.
I drive slower in heavy rain.
