I shopped for 7mo. before I found my 99 and bought it, and of all places on craigslist and an out of state listing where we met half way about 60mi. for each of us.

Or you can swap it out for an 0331 TUPY head with little or no modification.

The original 0331 head cracked. When Chrysler realized they had a problem, they quietly switched to a different foundry, TUPY in Brazil. The TUPY heads fixed the issue.

NONE of the Cherokees had TUPY heads from the factory, but the 4.0s in other Jeeps after 2002 had them. The TUPY heads are still 0331 heads but have "TUPY" cast into the top between the #3 and #4 cylinders, right where the original 0331 heads liked to crack.
