my 1990 I inherited, so to speak, a few years ago...it's been in the family since it was new in '90
my 2001 I bought from an old lady who had to stop driving due to her health, and it was only her snow vehicle... I got it this year with 33K miles on it

We were just looking for a new vehicle that ran better then the car we were driving. We saw the Jeep, the price was listed at $1950 but the guy needed to sell it quick so we talked him down to $1200.
I guess the Jeep found us so to speak. We were looking for a small car and now we have it...go figure

Inherited it from my mom/ brought it back from the dead (it sat for over a year for a hole in the gas tank when gas first hit 2.50, developing more problems from sitting) after rolling my cavalier. It had 130k on it but had a easy life with her so I knew it would be healthy for years to come.

Got the Xj off craigslist. This was after 2 months of shopping and test driving about 20 other Jeeps. When my ZJ was wrecked, i spent 2 month trying to find a replacement jeep. I looked at other ZJ's, YJ, TJ and XJ's. Happy the best I found was the XJ. Has nearly the room of the ZJ or WJ and the abilities of the Wrangler. IMO the best of both worlds.

my first XJ was bought on craigslist. paid $1000. it was a pile.. that never really buffed out.
the second one, (current) i like to think i stole.. it was my sister/brother inlaws DD.. they bought a new rig, i got this one for $500.. the body was not Great. as it was a (stock) wheeler. but it was meticulously maintained, with a ZJ 4.0liter swap. open cooling, all new Blow-by system. new brakes.. anything that would need maintenance.. got maintained.
This rig had atleast 3 grand in maintenance put into it, and 3 months later i bought it for $500.
Thats a steal IMO

Bought used from a dealer, 89k miles for $6995. Now has about 94k and I owe about $3000 if the man doesn't come pick it up.
