if you take it apart and cant fix it then you have lost nothing, if you scrap it and buy something else you lost a chance to spend time with your dad.

this forum is funny. 3 years ago 90% of the members were probably talking about the new wheels they got on their skateboard and getting a ride to the mall.

So I will definitely be doing the full on rebuild cherokee super crawler.
My only problem is the other car I will need to commute 45miles daily to go to school. I need something with good mpgs (45 mile commute), reliable (i need it to work), and can handle in snow (I live in CO)
So what would i guys recommend, i was thinking mid 90s subaru. other ideas?

I never skateboarded much when I was 16, but I don't see why it would matter if I was a young teen three years ago. I work on my XJ almost every day now, and love it. My age doesn't matter to my XJ, and it shouldn't matter either when I give advice or an opinion as long as the advice is sound and the opinion is polite/respectful.

@CherokeeCountry, WOW. You, sir give me hope for our future. In the face of adverisity you remained cool, calm, level headed and even polite. You'r folks must be proud.

Negative? This forum is chock full of negative posts about "stupid" wrangler owners, "stupid" auto shop employees, "stupid" mechanics, "stupid" SUV drivers, "stupid" auto shop teachers, the "stupid" guy you met on the trail, etc etc.
