Not a problem. This wiring set up will last me a long time, soldered every connection and used that heat activated shrink wrap.

 

i have a ? can i ground each light to my alumin roof rack bar. is alum a good grounding surface?

 

I don't think it would give you a good solid ground, and it would be very exposed to weather. Galvanic Corrosion would occur between bare wire and aluminum. What I did with mine, is I ran all the ground wires on each light together onto one wire starting from the far end on my rack, and brought that wire down the a-pillar behind the weather stripping, and grounded it on one of the fender bolts you can see when you open the door protects it so it won't corrode too much, and it's very solid. Not a lot of extra work either. Hope this helps.

I drilled the roof and works perfect no wires showing it was perfect

 

I haven't done it but my idea was: to drill thr roof and seal with grommet and aquarium sealant. Then run the wires above the headliner through (behind the interior trim) the A-pillar and back into the engine bay

 

How many lights and what wattage are they? That should be discussed before wire size is

And u can run it many ways. All my wiring runs inside the rack to the back and I drilled a hole next to the stock harness with a grommet just inside the hatch. I wouldn't drill through the roof or down the windshield. Just doesn't look good imo
