not sure what stuff goes for in canada. but I'd do around $300 for the D30, stock(?) steering linkage for free
is the D44 geared to 4.56 also?

Both are 4.56 gears. Rear locker. Really 300$ for a stock HP30? I was thinking more like 100-200$ and dana 44 300-400$.

4.56 gears are already in both? yeah $300. it'll cost you $350 in parts alone to do it yourself so $300 is a fair price for a geared D30 IMO. a 4.56 geared detroit locked D44 with a cover is a sweet axle too he might want up to $800 for that
