I've got a local shop I usually use. They gave me an estimate of $1125 to swap the gears in my axles and put in a spartan in the d30?! This is with me supplying the gears, carrier and locker. Is that normal? Seems pretty high to me, but I wanted to see what y'all thought. Thanks.

 

Thats high as hell. Around here, probably 4-500 bucks labor, with you supplying everything. And if they're bumping up the price because you're wanting a spartan put in, then they're just trying to jip you, because it will take no more time to throw that in when they're already tearing into it. Shop around, you'll find a better price.

 

Should only be like 2-250 per axle.

 

Anywhere from 250-500 per axle, depending on where you're at. I know plenty of shops that charge 500 per axle, just for the labor.
