I've had my 01 for about 5 months but my brother has had had his 97 xj since 2002. he got it for $9k with 87k. Not the best deal in the world but it was only 5 years old and one owner vehicle. Got it thru the dealership. It's got 159k now.

It's crazy to think at one point someone payed 25k for an xj! Lol
Got my 00 for 2k... I've only had it for about 4-5 months. Been driving Cherocars since I got my license though.

Engine: 4.0 stroked to 4.6, Thanks to Teasdale'sMachine!
I paid around 15 for my 99 in 1999. Drove it home with 4 miles on it. Been ours since. You know it's old when some of your early photos of the jeep are 110mm.

spring of 09 on Fort Bliss TX $900. Drove it across country back to NY summer of 09 and it's been the family trip vehicle, grocery grabber, hunting rig, mud toy and my DD since then. Wife hates to take trips in her 04 Nissan.

Got mine a year ago, April of 2012, for $1600. It had 190,000 miles on it.
Since then, only major repair was replacing the rear end. It currently has 220,000 miles and is still tooling along.
