How long before Cherokee's will go up in price?
The old 70's Bronco's and Toyota Landcruiser's cost a fortune now, [If you can find them for sale], basically any vehicle with a timeless, classic look are going up.
How long do you think before Cherokee's begin to actually appreciate in value?
I would think the classic shape\ look of the Cherokee guarantees it's only a matter of time until the price starts going up, granted it's in good condition.

i've been thinking about the same thing. when i was in the market a while back looking for a project car (76 IH scout traveller) - i was saying to myself "dang it's hard to come by a descent scout - let alone finding one for the right price. then actually thinking about the pros & cons to having one being that parts are so scarce.
i think in another 10 years the XJ's will definitely be "one of those cars" that will rank up there in resale due to it's original & classic look. by then, the only ones who will look to buy an XJ are those the truly love them & those that will not be concerned with the work that is involved in restoring one.

I would say more than ten years just by the sheer fact that there still are SOOOO many good cherokee's still on the road. EVen not having been made in 8 years its one of the most common SUV's on the road.

i only see the rarer ones going up first(woodies)
otherwise, they are too common, and most are still running. its going to be awhile.

With JP Magazine calling the XJ a single paycheck vehicle, it will be a while before they appreciate for certain. Look at it this way, even Mustang IIs are beginning to appreciate.

In 2011, mine will be a collectors. Unfortunately collectors plated vehicles, can only be driving 11 months of the year. The 12 th. is Feb. here in Wisconsin. (You'd have to get a normal plate for that month) I figured they never thought of 4x4 truck collectors. when they came up with that rule. So either way, you don't really save money on it.
