Hi... My name is ericfx1984, and I am addicted to XJ modding...
because I am broke I spend most of my waking hours reading about mods on the forums...
I offer local people free or next to free work as long as it is a Jeep
I constantly search the junk yards for stuff...
I have a bad back and my doctor says it is only getting worse... but yet I keep turning wrenches against my doctor's orders and my own better judgement
I dream about trails...
I had to give up beer to get more stuff for the Jeep
I am an addict...
Are you an addict?

I think we're all Jeep addicts here.
I'm guilty of the same things as you. My 88 is trying to keep me broke with new ideas for things to make it better.

When i got my XJ i wasnt even gonna put my stereo stuff in her, I did. I wasnt gonna do any mods, I put add a leaf on her because she was sagging. The rear was higher than the front so i put the 2" spacers in the front. I bought some tires and rims becouse i thought they were 31x10.5x15, they werent, they were 31x13.5x15 with one heck of a backspace on em. I put em on anyway and trimmed some of my flares. Way too fat. Sold the tires and automaticly my Jeep drove me to Iron Rock because its only 7 miles from me. I had no choice, the money was in my pocket, i already spent it on my baby so it was completely justified. She said. I agreed. So we got the 4" incher. Put it on her last Wednesday, thursday went and got an alighnment Thursday. Tried that throtle body trick and she does ride sweet. A friend owed me money for two years, avoided me, you know how it goes, he is a welder, i text him because i had an idea, i asked him to make me a roof rack for the money, he came over, measured it and i had it in one week, i painted that today.
Also today at easter dinner, i found out my nephew works a Pull R Parts or something like that, he will be getting me goodies whenever an XJ comes in. SO YEA, I GOT THE FEVER.
I WOULDNT IF IT WASNT FOR THIS SITE THOUGH.
Ive been waking up at 3 AM and checking for new posts.
There, i admitted it.

I have it. I just made a 2 page list of things I want to do and that is not all of it. I see things that have not been replaced on it and are OEM from 1995 and I see ops to upgrade and mod. I told my kids I would have my ZJ trail ready this summer and one of them told me that if I didn't, he would knaw me off at the knee caps.... He is 6 by the way....
The first thing my dad asked me is when are you going out to the trails? And how much are you going to break?

I occasionally go outside at night just to look at it.
I spend more time on CF than on Facebook
I gave up Craigslist for lent and almost broke in when I decided I wanted new rims.
I entertain myself during extended times of computer-free boredom by using pictures I already took of my Jeep to edit on my phone.
I stay wide awake at night thinking in detail about the tires and rims I want.
My local salvage yard is used to me pulling up in my XJ with a trailer full of scrap metal to exchange for parts.

My life consists of three things. First, my Jeep. I love it. Would never get rid of it. Second, work. I work so I can afford parts and upgrades for the Jeep mentioned above. Third, I go to college. This is done so I can get a degree and make more money, and spend more on my Jeep. I suppose my life revolves around my 94 XJ, and I'm just fine with that.

Honestly... I should take pics to show of why I can't stop thinking about working on my XJ. On my off days, I spend an hour 2 days a week if my off days arent connected, washing and detailing my XJ. I legitimately spend 30 to 45 mins a day planning how I'm gonna sand and paint it and fix the rust at the bottom. Once or twice a day I get angry somebody didn't take better care of it.
I take rides in my Xj just because i want to feel it's power. I've had a 06 Malibu and an 06 Fusion and I prefer my XJ to either of those cars. My first car was an 01 focus that had amazing gas mileage and right now I'd rather have my XJ... even modded with 4 dollar a gallon gas then drive a focus.
