Help a noob get his first Cherokee?
I'm new to the forum and new to Jeeps. I'm considering buying a Cherokee for my wife and found one with the following description:
"92k original miles, car runs 10 outta 10, way too much to list..over 10 grand invested..with that being said offer me a reasonable price and its all urs..not one single problem with this car. Automatic cold air intake..full magnaflow exhaust system..bbk throttle body and spacer..and tuned with superchips flash paq.. interior is mint..got the whole car detailed a few months ago..like i said over 10k invested so i cant let it go cheap..i am neg to a reasonable offer."
I've seen what is out there in stock form and seen what the going prices are. Assuming that the car is in decent shape, could someone help me determine what a "reasonable offer" would be for this setup?

not many people are gonna pay kbb.com price so id start there, disregard all mods as far as price goes, year/ rust, make sure you get under it with a flash light and say "hmm" a couple times : )
whats the asking price?

This is the pic. Thanks for the reply, your help is appreciated! Thing is there aren't many around me with under 120k mile. And I'd like to get some years out of it. Saw one at a dealer with 97k, but they wanted 10000$. How high can i expect to take the mileage in general? I wouldn't be running rock trails, just using on the beaches where we live. And I'm not very good in the garage, so something with work done already to get me started sounded good. The seller didn't reply with a price, just repeated how much he sunk into it and would like a "reasonable" offer.

He's pry going to try to get 8 to 10000 out of you. Get a list of specs done to it and what axles, tranny, ETC it has in it. Looks to me the owner lifted it and thats all. I wouldn't spend 6000 on it.

theres probably only 10 grand in that one because he payed someone to do all the labor
a dealer where I live would probably ask 7000 for it. private party 5000
get something else or build your own for 10g

Any time anyone is selling a vehicle there gonna try and make it seem more valuable than it actually is, Meaning if they say i just did 800$ worth of brakes? thats the price the dealer quoted them and they actually did it for like 200. If they actually bought a lift kit. Theyll try and value it as more also. etc. The list goes on. They want retail for everything they put in it. Id give him 5-6 for it.

I wouldn't give him too much....I bought mine last year with 83K original miles for $4000......its a year older now.....so even with the mods I wouldn't give more than $4-4500.

It's at least 11 years old. We like our add-ons, but they depreciate the minute you buy them and $6k is what a dealers would ask for full price on an excellent unmolested Cherokee of that vintage and mileage in MN.
