HELP for a Cherokee Newbie
I just bought a 2001 Cherokee Sport. The AC works okay at first and then gets to where it only blows warm air. Also I had been driving it a good bit and went to check under the hood and I could not even lift the hood without oven mits! IT WAS FREAKIN HOT!!! But there was no smoke or antifreeze smell. It has coolant and the oil level seemed to be okay. Any HINTS where to start???

x2 on the ac shop, I tried to fill mine myself with no success. I need to take time to visit a shop.
As far as the heat inside the engine I might say its typical? Maybe?... Mine seems hellacious hot also but no over heating. It smells crazy hot too when I stop. I believe my engine just needs a good cleaning. I have read that a lot of soot build up around an engine like oil etc can cause an engine to have an excessive heat issue and smell. The coating acts like a layer of insulation around the block. Could be what some of the heat is from. I need to pressure wash mine one of these days.
