Yup even in my enclosed Cherokee I still use the belt and never put my limbs outside when there's danger of rolling.

I consider a good driver, someone who operates things well. To be honest, I have not decided in my own mind from this vid if the driver knew what the limitations were and was playing 'on the edge' or if he was a simpleton. (I put my money on the later).

Getting back to my point, an operator of equipment is good at assessing the terrain and conditions and won't proceed until they are comfortable; at least from my experience. So from this video, I too consider him a poor driver.

He has a $30-35K rig, that is 7 days old and he appears to have no bearings on where he is or the concept of what could happen if things go to hell-in-a-handbasket.

I hope he takes a course for offroading. It would serve him well, and possibly the rest of us.

not hard, since he is going downhill. going up that could be a little hard. ive got the 5 speed as well haha
stock gears will have less torque at the tires so you'll just have to give it more gas, it will eventually stop you because your crawl wont be low enough

Using a manual for wheeling isn't as easy as wheeling an auto, but it is more exciting. Get a hand throttle and put it on your gear shift lever. It will take time to get used to using it, but if you start practicing you will be amazed at what you can get done using one foot for the clutch, and one for the brake, and your right hand for the gas.

Not everyone can go out and wheel like a pro..

It wasnt all his fault, his friends shouldnt have took him there if he was such a newb

He definitely didnt need to go there for his first time (if it was). But all the saftey fails is the worst. And not just for him but, his passanger, the guys helping, and his family etc..

if its your first time out don't be stupid sad part is thats an easy line down that just walk down the ledge. I think we ran a stock Xterra up and down that with no issues. Just trying to remember what trail that is there.

My bad on the driver not listening to his spotters, I viewed at work and have no speakers, so I was just able to see his disregard for personal safety.

He was driving! It was his falt! He could have said don't think so and just went down the cut. Plus if he was dumb enough to be in a moving vehicle on a trail and wasn' told to put the seat belt on they were all dumb.

the seat belt thing is EPIC. who doesnt wear a belt while wheeling. i mean cmon its even and upgradable part of wheeling. they make 5 point harnesses for a reason not just to look cool and feel "comfy".

I think the spotters set him up in a line that wouldn't scrape the body, but that almost backfired majorly
not wearing a seat belt was stupid and he probably wouldn't have to hang on like that if he had his seat belt on and hands on the wheel
