Alright so after passing this one up, I realized that I'm still not 100% sure what I want to do about this whole Jeep scenario. I've been thinking about it ever since my dad got a Wrangler, so here's the deal... I want to know what y'all would do.

My dad spoiled me buy not only surprising me with a car when I turned 16, but a very nice one at that. A 2007 GMC Envoy SLT (lots of chrome WOO). It has an awesome audio setup with speakers in the back, front, and tweeters near your ears, and great bass for a stock vehicle too. It has amazingly comfortable leather seats, and is REALLY safe. It doesn't drive like an SUV, accelerates really quickly and great maneuverability. Pretty dependable too. I love it but since my dad got a Wrangler it made me love Jeeps and realize how much I want to wheel. The Envoy unfortunately doesn't have 4WD.

So, because I want to become better learned in car mechanics and I get a lot of satisfaction out of doing things and paying for things myself, Im always doing things to the Wrangler, even though it's not even mine. I realized that I want to go to Colorado (or somewhere mountainous) for college, so I want 4WD for sure. I figured a Cherokee was a great blend of the Envoy and the Wrangler, especially if I invest in a little under $2000 in a 4.5 inch lift and subs/speakers. And I know this may sound stupid to a lot of you, but I don't want to be that spoiled kid with the nice car his dad paid for. I like the idea of getting an older car with some scratches and dents and whatnot, making it my own and paying for the modifications myself.

If y'all were in my shoes, what would you do, knowing that 4WD, wheeling, and a great audio system are at the top of my list? Cargo space is also up there, but I love the topless feel of Wranglers.

Okay, enough rambling, time for your input. Sorry for all this talk and if I'm bothering you... It's just that I have thought and thought about this scenario for months and still am not 100% sure what I want to do.
---

On a side note: If I get a Cherokee, I definitely want to get that light/sky/steel blue color, red chili pepper, or sienna pearl, or possibly a BRIGHT yellow.

Pass on bright yellow. It's not a Ford Escape or a Nissan Pathfinder, they're yellow so they can be found easier when they get stuck.

First off id say red would be a good color looks great with what ever rims u put on it chrome black w/e and the more rubberte better 15s are good. 2 id recommend a cherokee over a wrangler ive had both, wranglers are nice with no tops and doors but you look around and everone has them harder to make it unique and look really well with a little bit of cash and a cherokee on the other hand u can still take the doors off after a little mod to unhook and re hook up the power windows and locks and unlike the wrangler you dont see too many nice lifted cherokees and if they are lifted most likely a strictly woods rig ( my opinion i give more respect to owners with built cherokees than wranglers) and when i had my wrangler it was decent had a tj worth roughly 9000 stock with another 11000 invested)
And with all that being said your buying a jeep so its gonna drive like suv lifted for that matter unless u get gears top speed for both will prob be 80-90 tops and a slow time getting there but ull be happy with what ever u decide long post sorry if i bored u but that my opinion good luck

Thanks! Yeah personally I think a built up cherokee looks more badass than a wrangler, unless the wrangler has thousands upon thousands invested, something I just don't have haha.

Anyhow thanks for the opinion - much appreciated.

He doesn't care. He thinks I'm stupid cause I wanna get an older and less nice car, but he'll make money selling the Envoy haha. So he's i different. I think I'm just gunna wait for that almost perfect Cherokee to appear. We know a guy that buys cars from auctions and sells em so hopefully he can find one if we can't.

granted its not as nice as it was when i owned it, but now im going to build it. Its all about what you want, and what you plan to do with it, xj is a great starting point. i dont know where you are but it looks south, dont be afraid to look a bit farther away
