It was excellent weather yesterday! Cleaned up the garage some, finished up swapping out the doors of my trail MJ for some clean relatively dent free ones. Took a ride around town on the pitbike and I arrived to my buddy's house across town yesterday afternoon just in time to de-rail his plans for mailbox repair and make it propper.
What started out as the idea of using just shocks to hold up the box (no way jose) turned into a much more effective and functional setup to be appreciated by not only the passer's-by But also the unhappy mail lady that didn't like how short the box was mounted.
SO SIMPLE... welded a base to the mailbox-welded the coil spring to the box-cut down the mailbox post to compensate for proper height- welded the coil spring to the post.
Initially the box sprung around a little too much. Now comes in the functional part to this "build". An old shock does just the trick to limit and control the spring. (Too functional to resist!)

Plz share your mailbox additions if you have any!
