What are some good spots in a xj where you can store stuff besides the obvious trunk under the back seat glove box and center console.

I need a place where i can store things like my tablet and phone but i would also like to be able to store my tools and some spare parts without worrying about them getting stolen (Don't Live In A Good Neighborhood)

As dumb as it sounds, one time I found my lost ratchet and socket in the air box under the filter lol. Could be a good spot I guess, haha

Don't have a picture but on my 1983 Ford F-250, I made a bracket to hold a toolbox in the engine compartment. (Back then the engine bay was enormous) it was awesome

You could make a false floor for the trunk so when they look in it appears to be empty, but when you open the trunk you can slide out a drawer or something similar....

I made a false floor behind the passenger seat when I had an XJ. Put my amp under it and covered it with matching OEM carpet from a junkyard. It sat flush with the trans hump, straight across to the door sill.

I had a friend hide a sac of weed in the air box on top of the filter. He planned on staying at the bonfire all night and wanted to keep it/him safe. Another kid started it and it got sucked partially into the engine.

As for where I would his stuff.... I like to stick a small soft bag with my things in it on the inside of the spare tire wedged between the tire and plastic trim price.

Bottom line: You live in a bad area by your own admission. Don't leave anything of value in your jeep. I live in a nice area, and my jeep has been broken into twice. Wanna keep your stuff? Take it with you, or leave it at home.

I only carry tools and the like when I'm out to the trails. AAA is worth it, LOL...Yeah, it can be a pain in the tookis to unload all the stuff into the garage, and load it into the jeep when needed, but you know it's safe.

You have 2 options one is to not leave anything of value in your Jeep and two is to carry very good insurance on the contents when/if its stolen.
