A good spotter is very important on any trail. This is a good article. I'v seen plenty off vids on youtube where the driver fails to listen to spotter and rolls. and other vids where the spotter is the dick..

Great post! Awesome article!

I can't stress this enough when out on the trail. . .

dueling spotters should never be tolerated, as it creates chaos and miscommunication. If you find yourself spotted by the peanut gallery, don't let it distract you and go with the person you trust. If you are a spectator, let the spotter have the stage and never offer unsolicited advice from the sidelines unless it pertains to safety or avoiding major damage.
If/ when you trust your spotter the communication should be between him/ her and you. Your focus and eyes watching his signals and listening to instructions. Not hanging out the window watching the front tire (see this WAY to often), talking to passenger, talking to spectators....

Again, great post OP!

Very good article! I've had quite a few situations where my spotter is the reason I got through/over an obstacle. As a driver, never operate with the mindset that you can get yourself through everything when on the trails, especially if you're new to offroading.

Great article. Kinda like a refresh safety course. We all know this but tend to get into a rhythm and forget the basics.
