I am going to look at that 98 cherokee today.
Anyone have any opinions, or tips on things to look for?
I will check to make sure:
everything works
Check for leaks
I will drive it until its warm
I will get it up to highway speeds
check the fluids
Check the floor pans
I dunno.
Any help this morning would be great.
Thanks for looking.

It should have a distributor. The 00 and 01s were the ignition coils. Don't forget to check for rust underneath! Make sure all the windows work and most importantly 4wd!

I think its a good asking price and looks real clean. I would however take it to a shop and have a mechanic look at If since its used. Good luck it looks awesome.

So the original link i posted. The seller revealed himself as a dealer.
I posted a new link in the first post. The seller has been very upfront, and honest, and has sent me 40+ pics of it.
He is asking $3250 obo, and he doesnt know what lift kit is on it.

thats a great deal. looks pretty clean.
try to talk him down to 3, and go from there. check 4wd, floorpans, make sure coolant is clean and not oily. and then check the carfax after you meet him and see if everything he said was true.
i payed 3500 for mine, and the guy was really honest and loved it but had to sell it. (check my build thread)

no coolant in it, radiator was busted, oil cooler was leaking, every ball joint on it needed replacing, way way way to much slop in the steering, had weird vibrations, and seemed to have water leaking into the interior.
id rather not buy a jeep that i have to trailer home, and then spend my weekend fixing so i can daily drive it. plus, who knows if it has ever been overheated, the owner bought it, and never even titled it for some reason, the title was still in the last owners name.
way to many red flags for me, i can afford a nicer one with less issues.
so the hunt continues....

i found my baby on cars.com for something old, i only felt comfortable dealing with someone that had records and took care of their ride...
i would definitely pass on that jeep. way to many headaches...
Good Luck with the search

Very well maintained truck, interior is mint, exterior is 90% mint, has brand new dunlop tires, and has brand new oem replacement aftermarket shocks.
