Default gas milage

Is wondering what ppl are getting for gas mileage. I have a stroker motor so i know it might use more gas 4.7L.. stock gears 3.55 and im on 33/1250r15. I was getting horrible gas mileage but its gotten better but still not great. I didnt know if i was getting bad milage cause i will get a check engine light on for bank one lean every once in a while but i cant find the leak. i have replace intake/exhaust gasket, vac hoses and checked for leaks several times but with no luck fixing prolem.
Anyways was just wondering if even close to having normal gas mileage. About 200 a tank

stock gears on 33s? regear and your mileage will improve and you will feel more power.

If you haven't had your speedo regeared, your speedo and odometer are off by 18% as compared to 225-75-15. 200 indicated miles would be closer to 236 miles. How many gallons are you typically adding to fill 'er up?

I may only get 16mpg around town, but have gotten 22+ on extended trips, and this with 235-75-15s. The original window sticker indicated 15-19.

that seems pretty decent. my mileage has ranged from 15 beating on it around town to 23.74 on a trip with a couple guys. i have stock 3.07 gears in my 93 with ~3 " of lift and a 5 speed man trans.

Cant believe no one has said this yet...your bank 1 lean code is a bad o2 sensor friend...did it say bank 1 sensor 2, or bank 1 sensor 1..b1s1 is the front sensor, b1s2 is the one just behind the cat. Bank 1 is what ever side, front or back/side or side, cylinder 1 is on. In our case bank 1 is the front half of the manifold because cylinder 1 is in the front...correct me if I'm wrong guys...hope this helps!

When I was on 33s and stock gears I would get about 220 miles on a tank, 80% highway. Once I installed 4.10s I started getting around 250 miles. a

Totally stock '99 with Thule rack AND fairing. Depending on how heavy my foot is, if Im running AC, etc., I get 14ish around town and 17-19 highway. NEVER use cruise on the highway, especially where there are lots of hills. It KILLS your mileage.

Fix your emmisions issues, then record actual MPGs and re ask the question.
200 miles on a stroked XJ running 33" tire and 3.55 gears with a O2 sensor code, doesn't sound bad too me. About what would be expected in this situation. I'd bet if you did some emissions and fuel system maintenace that would improve by almost 50%

I quit checking my mpg all I know is its not verry good but I think I have 3.07 gearz and my tires are always around 20psi and its mainly city and trail driving so that all ads up to crappy mpg. With my tires at 35psi I was getting about 13 city and 16-20hwy but im only on 31's.

Stock 5 speed 4 liter with 235... 20 mpg city.. not heavy traffic but stop sign/light every mile. Filled up yesterday with 391 miles on the trip meter and 17 gallons to fill her up. That is 23 mpgs, but I just recently switched to non ethanol gas so I may have picked up 1-2 mpgs. Of course it is not fun to drive and get this MPG.. slow steady and low RPMs. I also do not think an Auto could get this type of mileage even driven in the same manor since there is less control over the shifting and RPMs.

I went up to Bentonville Virginia for some conoeing/rapids this weekend with my 93... Stock '93 country 4.0, Auto, with 31's and 3.55s. Loaded down with camping gear and carrying a 15ft canoe strapped to the top and I still averaged out at 19.8 mpg traveling an average speed of 70-75 mph according to GPS.... Add the fact that my odometer is off due to larger tires and I got better than 20 mpg...
