Im stumped gas gauge reads 3/4 tank when full and the gauge moves around alot any suggestions? Bad sending unit maybe the float?

 

My gass guage was all messed up and the tank was leaking around the sending unit so i dropped the tank and found that the gasket that seals the fuel pump had fallen off (who knows how) and was hanging off the float. So it wasent letting it float all the way to the top. Just a possiblity. Best thing to do is to drop it and see what you can find. Takes 30min to an hour to drop it and put it back up.

 

Edit: Your gas tank has the sending unit on the front since its a 95 so you can remove it w/o dropping the tank. Theres a write up on it here somewhere.
