Has anybudy out there made some front tow points?? I really need some but the prices on these things is REDICULAS!!

so if you've made some, lets see them

or if you have ideas on how to make some... that'd be great too

don't know how leagal is it without a bumper but i fabed up some d ring mounts and mounted them to the unibody

2 grade 8 bolts. won't budge pulled a f350 and a cj out the other day with them. i also i put them in a certain way not sure if it matters but i put one bolt out and one bolt in. if you under stand that.

2 bolts?! Do you realize that the metal the 2 bolts are going into is just sheet metal? Like a couple layers of tin-foil. The factory tow hook brackets are mounted way better than that. Hell, even the factory bumper has more bolts in it than 2.

You need to get rid of those, before you tare one out of your uni-body.

I did't make it. But I installed a DrawTight front receiver hitch. It comes with two tow rings. Now I have a front tow point and a place to slide in a winch on a winch plate.

im thinking about just making some of these:


they look very easy to make,
what would be the best materials to use and where should i get em?

depends which way u look at it! i like my hooks like that cuz then the strap wont be able to fall off. but if there the other way then it can, its just prefernce!

ok. i thought so, i mean according to the so called guide i got. they are upside down, but there i know what you are saying... i think im going to get the retention spring clips(not the name, but you know what i mean)

i am going to install mine on monday, so id like to do it right

their not out of the question, i just need to have something now and it will be a while before i can earn the money for a bumper...

i think im gunna try to fab one when the time comes... maybe... lol

I made my bumpers. It takes time but is well worth it. I have no more than $200 into both front and rear, that includes the metal I had to buy, grinder, cut off wheels, flap disks, etc. My dad has a welder and plasma cutter I could use. And I had the metal for the rear already.
