Default Front drive shaft U bolt Upgrade? Has anyone done it?

I am in the process of removing my front drive shaft. The axle straps came off with out a hitch. The transfer case yoke strap bolts are giving me grief. I am planning on removing the heads of the bolts with an air chisel and running U bolts similar to what you can do on the rear.

Has anyone done this already. Are there any issues?

So what are my options on the transfer case side?

They are not your everyday straps they are the special spicer ones.

Chisel the heads off and then remove the bolt with vice grips and replace the bolt?

you can remove the heads and remove the bolts manually or wait a few days and soak everything in penetrating oil
