i got my front axle shafts out right now cuz i replaced the u-joints is their is a seal on the in side by the yoke is their another seal that goes on the outside??????? im not sure cuz if their was mine rusted away lol... i need to know a.s.a.p cuz i need my jeep for work tomorrow

 

Seals are inside and you have to remove the carrier to get to them, they are next to the carrier bearings in the tubes.

 

thanks i already found it yesterday after looking at it for awhile do u know if their is some type of seal for the outter end??? cuz i couldn't find nothing

 

There are some aftermarket seals kits available for the end of the front axle tubes. They do not keep your dif fluid in. They help to keep mud out of the axle tubes. Mud in the tubes will wear upon the outer lip of your actual axle oil seals and lead to reduced seal life. There are often plastic shields oem on many axles which help also to deflect mud from the axle tube, serving the same intended purpose as the aftermarket parts.
